In high school, checking out “slam books”, a question that captured my eyes (after who’s your crush question) was “WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?”

I never had a favourite! Once, I thought it was pink only to discover that it was all in the bid to be the “girly girl”. I love colours and all of them, though whenever I must choose I always go for purple.

Late last year, I studied google sources on The Psychology of Colours just to fill up a part of me that believed that colours have extraordinary effects on us.
However, on the New Year’s eve, colours inspired me from another edge. Watching how the fireworks displayed its spectacular and colourful effects on the dark sky tickled every part of me… Oh! How the colours splashed all over its canvas (the dark sky)? Then, it hit me…

My year of Colours!

The colours of the fireworks didn’t evict the fact that the sky was dark but it showed me other reasons to stay joyful and hopeful. This inspired me to theme 2020 as my year of colours; life may not be as planned, I may not have all I desire but I have all I NEED.

2020 started with rolls of saddening events. Asking the world to describe 2020 would be more depressing but while we are left with “the dark sky”, let’s not neglect the “colours of the fireworks” and be grateful for it… be grateful for the past gifts, the present blessings, the desires and the expectations.

Happy Birthday to me!!!
And I most excitedly usher myself once more into my year of colours…
28 will be brighter and colourful!

Thank God!
