GRANTED FOR GRANTED

Image:Crown_ Appeal

Call me an undiluted novice for I once believed that hair care starts and ends at washing, styling, braiding and blah blah blah. Before you start with the name calling as requested, just know that I wasn’t living under a rock rather I was knowledgeable about hair care but it was a messy knowledge as I believed that hair care was for those with hair complications. My hair was frizzy with a soundtrack of a tangled synthetic weave but it was long and for me, that was all that mattered, plus people complimented the length and colour.

EACH FOR EQUAL: CELEBRATING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF WOMEN

24.08.2018
I was greatly astonished though for a negative reason after having a long chat with a friend. He had re-posted a statement that generally misrepresented women; the post posed women as lazy beings who had nothing to offer to the world. I vividly remember how much I was wrapped with rage; to describe it, I felt like a blazing hot hand-like iron squeezed my heart.

THE BEAUTY OF ROUGE

My love for colours has not dwindled, maybe NEVER. I mean, a rooted love like ours (colours and I), cannot just fade. There’s something about colours, it is not only the beauty but I believe it comes with certain vibes. Okay! I am not a psychologist, so I may not have proofs but avant de tomber amoureuse avec Colours, Chidi and I would wear clothes which colours suit our moods. Colours defined our emotions. So, you can imagine our very happy moments.

More like a colour festival, yellow + pink + brown + purple + black!!

I would have shared a picture but I prefer words. This is because I am vying for the post of World’s Hottest Grandma 2040, I wouldn’t want the mistake of a Blast From The Past!!

The warning light, danger sign and blood are RED. Hence, I was uncomfortable wearing red. With this alone, I doubt if I would make it to the Law School, it was unquestionably a bad judgement.

The many shades of red has recently placed me in a more confused state than the ultimate search of my earrings’ hook. Burgundy, Carmine, Tomato, Maroon, Rose, Scarlet, Cherry, Merlot, Sangria, Ruby… biko chelu!!

It could be a manifestation of maturity or just realisation of my misjudgment.  Nevertheless, I have come to understand that Red indicates warning or danger because it is a strong colour that easily alerts people. It also symbolises Joyful celebrations (how can I forget Christmas), Passion (really? Are you thinking of Telemundo?), Courage and Power.

A touch of red proves the strength it wields. No wonder most brides cannot do without it. Be it as the colour of a lipstick or accessories, it awakens the soul of brightness and that is the Defeat of Boredom.

Oh red!
