I could remember in details how anxious I was to see my result of the University Nigeria Nsukka’s POST UME examination. Fully aware of how much I believed I prepared for the examination; I was really positive about my score. Sitting in the front seat of my dad’s car, listening to the cool music which was just perfect for the mood, my face was ravishing with a lot of smiles and my confidence was as fat as that of a cow.
On reaching the cyber café, I was in charge of the situation. Like the master, I requested for the scratch card used in checking the result. The young lady who was helping other jambites gave me a comfortable seat to relax and wait for my turn. I rested my body on the seat like the king of Electrical Engineering department 100 Level. Then, it was my turn! I greeted her and eagerly helped her to scratch the card. On checking my result, her facial expression gave me zero encouragement. She gave me the most shocking and unfortunate news anyone could offer me at that moment of my life. I failed the exam woefully with a score of 120 out of 400. Honestly, I was floored, negatively floored! There was nothing left but to tell my dad my score, looking at me he nodded his head and didn’t utter a word to me.
